Train from Home—Work at Home. Step by Step to Transcriptionist

Medical transcription is one of the rare Home-based professional jobs.  If you follow our steps, a home-based career will grow that is uniquely yours.  Your personality and commitment will be all over it.  No one can ever take it away!

Perhaps once in a lifetime we face a change as fundamental as today.  You can invest early in a new career and turn a small effort into a great gain.  The cost of gasoline, food and so many other items is creating huge benefits to Working at Home.  Those of us who can work at home save hundreds of dollars a month on commuting, auto expenses, food, clothing, childcare, etc.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook states, “Medical Transcription is among the ten fastest growing occupations in the U.S”.  Healthcare is one of the few professions which has always been recession proof.

You can be a medical transcriptionist and Work from Home in 9 months!  How can we teach you the all the basics, provide an internship and find you a job all in 9 months?  We are known by employers as a Staffing School.  We are not a retail school like you see advertising on Google or Yahoo.  Our training is almost all staffing and we are always educating to fill jobs for our Partner Employers.  We do such a good job at this that companies refer graduates of other schools to us for our internship training.

We are one of the few medical transcription staffing schools; possibly the first having started training this way in 1996.  A staffing school trains its’ students to go to work for employers who contract with the school to provide graduates to go right to work.  This is our system and our approach.  It saves our school and our employers money and we pass this on in reduced tuition costs.  We don’t employ sales people and we rarely advertise.

Bright Start ™ is our core curriculum program.  Its’ lessons are the long-time staples of medical transcription and have been used for years.  In 1996, Med Workshops began providing a mentored approach to medical transcription training.

Bright Start graduates advance to our Mentored Internship™ class.  We are one of the few schools that have professional medical transcriptionists to mentor you.  Our internship program "teaches" students more in a few weeks of internship than can be learned in months of practice typing.  Each intern is assigned to a professional medical transcriptionist mentor!

If you don’t complete an internship or attend a staffing school, you will fall victim to the 2 year experience requirement and typing tests.  Odds are, you won’t get a job.  Your education wasted !  If you don’t have Job Placement staffing help, you will be pounding the pavements and forgetting what you learned.  Scared and Frustrated !

Large Staffing Programs are quite often offered by Med Workshops and our partner employers.

Because we are a staffing school, our approach is to teach you the entry level basics first and get you to work fast.  You'll pay less for tuition this way.  However, you can enroll in Specialty Training classes at any time.  Newbie transcriptionists always start at the entry level.  You may not need advanced specialties during your first year of employment.  You can take those classes later.  We don't insist on Specialty Training in the beginning, but many students like to take the advanced education before going to work.  With Med Workshops, it is your choice.

What is the number-one mistake students make?  No Job Placement and poor education!  MT Employers require 2 years of experience unless you attend a School with Internship and Job Placement.

I am wondering about the mentorship program. I have received my Certificate in Medical Transcription at a Community College, but can't get my foot in the door to get started. How can you help me?
