Bright Start Program

The magic is in the process. Study in your home at your own pace!

Bright Start™ is our core curriculum program consisting of five classes.  (If you were referred by one of our Medical Transcription Employer Partners, Job Placement is included in the basic tuition price.)  This curriculum is blended by our staff and represents the best study aids the industry has to offer.  There is no better curriculum available, guaranteed!  The study is roughly 50% online and interactive.  The balance is study and/or typing by CD and text.

The Bright Start Bundle is our basic program.  The Bundle is a combination of classes built to guarantee all of our graduates a job offer on graduation or your tuition money is refunded- this is our guarantee.

Med Workshops maximizes on-the-job training by using Mentored Internship as the final class.  Internship and Job Placement assures each graduate an employment offer with one of our Medical Transcription Company Partners for home-based work.

The Bright Start Classes:

  • Anatomy, Physiology and Terminology (APT)
  • Medical Transcription Typing 1
  • Medical Transcription Typing 2
  • Online Computer Technology for Medical Transcription
  • Mentored Internship™

Graduates are offered a full or part-time job through our Job Placement service. If you were referred by one of our Medical Transcription Company Partners, Job Placement is included in the basic tuition price.

How it Works:

Med Workshops has Staffing Partnership Agreements with national transcription companies.  Our classes meet the specific education and hiring requirements of our Partner Medical Transcription firms who are eager to hire graduate transcriptionists from our school.

This is a ten-month course.  It is expected that students will graduate in 10 months by studying 20 to 40 hours per week.  This excellent education program may be exactly what you have been looking for if you really want to have a career at home.

NOTE:  We don’t have open enrollment!  We educate to fill jobs.  We don’t educate students for the sake of education alone.  If we don’t have the job orders we don’t enroll students!  This may seem confusing to some, but it has been our sole focus since 1996.   We bring graduates together with employers who are actively hiring.  We have been doing this for many many years.  Please check our testimonials.

"Unfortunately, some students learn about Bright Start only after spending hundreds, or thousands of dollars on inferior training."

"I have just completed an Advanced Medical Transcription program with ........ College in Canada. I now understand the importance of a mentor, which my program does not offer.

Although it has only been two weeks, I am already experiencing the frustration of trying to find an entry-level position.   Is your mentoring program open to MTs that have not taken your program?"

Testimonial

Becoming a medical transcriptionist was a career change for me.  After working in the computer industry for 10+ years, I knew I was not happy with my career and wanted to make a change.  Before choosing MED Workshops, I researched web training and local colleges and found that MED Workshops had the most to offer.  It was the best decision I have ever made!  For the first time in my life I have a career that I absolutely love, a company and people I really enjoy working with, and I feel as though what I am doing is important.   Heather

"I have recently completed a medical transcription course at T... S..... and I am having all the problems that were mentioned on your website.

My school was not on the list of schools you accept. I would be very interested in (testing) to see if I qualify."
