Mentored Internship Levels I and II

The most important thing you should know about medical transcription training is the value of internship!  A student could spend months on practice typing and learn more through Internship in a fraction of that time.

We have been training students to go right to work since the early 1990s.  We first taught our courses in classrooms and then switched to the internet in 1996.  We are what is known as a staffing school for Medical Transcription companies.  The only guaranteed way to be hired right out of school is to complete an internship for a transcription company.  We do this!  We put you right to work at home; full or part-time.

If you don’t train yourself in this fashion you will be faced with needing 2 years of experience to get a job.  You will also be required to take transcription typing tests.  How can you do that if you have recently graduated from school- any school?  You can’t!  It’s a horrible catch 22.  No one tells you until you are out looking for a job; then it’s too late and your education investment is wasted.

The solution is Internship with Job Placement.  Learning is more than absorbing facts, it is acquiring understanding.  This is what employers are seeking; graduates who have a true understanding of their system as well as transcription skills.  Anyone telling you otherwise is not in touch with today's market.  Internship with a mentor is rarely, if ever, offered by the numerous diploma mills. In the old days every MT had to intern.

Level I Internship will introduce you to the real world of medical transcription.  Each intern is assigned to an experienced MT mentor for Q and A.

Level II Internship provides advanced training.  Most (95%) of our students are ready for entry-level employment opportunities after finishing Level II of Mentored Internship™.

Testimonial

I embarked on a new career at 40, with MED Workshops' medical transcription course.  Studying part-time it took me 18 months to complete, but true to their advertising, I was promptly employed upon graduation with high honors.  Its been 14 years since I quit my full-time job to start a family, and I have explored several different avenues for supplementing my husband's income, but nothing seemed to pan out very well.  I truly wish I could have found this career earlier.  It is a perfect fit for my interests and abilities, and it has just the right blend of structure and flexibility to keep me on track with work and family.
